The cleanest mental model: Gojo's technique lets him manipulate the mathematical concept of space at the level of cursed energy.
Neutral Limitless (Infinity): the space between an attacker and Gojo is divided infinitely — like Zeno's paradox. An attack doesn't hit a wall; it keeps traveling through an infinite series of halfway points and asymptotically never arrives. It's automatic, always-on, and filters what he allows through (that's why he can touch people — he chooses what reaches him).
- Blue (Convergence): he 'strengthens' the negative number aspect — creating a deficit of space that pulls everything toward a point. Effectively controllable gravity/vacuum.
- Red (Reversal): the reverse-technique inversion of Blue — a surplus of space that violently repels. Roughly twice Blue's raw force.
- Hollow Purple: collides Blue and Red into an 'imaginary mass' that erases whatever it touches by simply deleting the space it occupies.
His domain, Unlimited Void, is the same idea weaponized against minds: it forces infinite information into perception so the target can't process anything at all. The main canonical limits: it can be countered by domain expansions (sure-hit effects bypass Infinity), by special tools/techniques designed to cut through technique itself, and by anything that messes with his cursed-energy output.
