Just watched the end of the exam arc. Frieren was obviously miles ahead of basically every other candidate, and then Serie fails her in the final interview in like two minutes while Fern passes. The reason Serie gives felt really vague to me. was it about their history (the whole Flamme thing) or is there a clearer explanation somewhere in the manga?
