Starting Demon Slayer for the first time and the movie/season structure is confusing — I've heard the Mugen Train movie is also a season? What's the correct order, and can I skip the recap movies?

Safe to skip: the compilation/recap films (like the 'To the Hashira Training' theatrical recap) — they're trailers-plus for people between seasons. The only real trap is skipping Mugen Train entirely because 'it's just a movie': it's a mainline arc and season 2 assumes you've seen it.
