Why does Blue Lock season 2 look so much worse than season 1?

Just started season 2 after loving season 1's animation and it looks like a completely different show, some scenes are full CGI and characters barely move during the actual matches. did something happen with the studio or is this just a budget thing?

been watching anime since the fansub VHS days and this kind of thing happens more than people think — it's not a studio change, Eight Bit did both seasons. What actually happened is they were producing a Blue Lock movie at the same time as season 2, and from what animators said afterward the production committee just didn't give the back half of the season enough time or people. You can see it get worse as the season goes, which is usually the tell for a schedule crunch instead of an intentional art style choice. Season 1 also just had way more lead time before it aired. Happens to a lot of shows that get a surprise hit season 1 and then get rushed into more content too fast, prolly gonna keep happening as long as production committees keep stacking projects on one studio.
