Is Blue Lock season 3 actually confirmed or just fan hype?

keep seeing October 2026 thrown around for a season 3 covering the Neo Egoist League arc, but I can't tell if that's an official date or just people speculating off the manga timeline. Is there an actual studio announcement with a real date attached or is this still rumor territory?

It's confirmed, not fan hype — Blue Lock Season 3, subtitled Neo Egoist League, was officially announced at the Blue Lock Egoist Festa event in Tokyo and is set to premiere October 9, 2026. Studio 8bit is producing again, so no animation-studio swap to worry about.

A couple of things worth flagging while you wait:

  • There's also a live-action Blue Lock film slated for summer 2026, timed to the World Cup — separate project, don't mix it up with the anime.
  • Announced dates for anime slip more often than not, so treat October 9 as the plan rather than a guarantee until Studio 8bit actually starts dropping key visuals and a PV closer to the date.

If you're impatient, the Neo Egoist League arc is already fully out in the manga — reading ahead won't spoil you on anything the anime hasn't gotten to yet, since you're this far along already.

To add a bit past what's already here — the "Neo Egoist League" name itself tells you something about the scale of what's coming. The remaining players get split across five countries (Germany, England, Spain, Italy, France) to train under pro-level coaches in separate leagues before the final selection, which is a much bigger structural shift than anything Blue Lock's done before.

It also covers well over 150 chapters of manga, which is a lot of ground for one season — most outlets covering the announcement are already assuming this needs a multi-cour run rather than a single clean cour like previous seasons, even though Studio 8bit hasn't confirmed an episode count. So the October 9 date is solid, but treat "how long is this season" as still an open question, separate from "is it confirmed."

Word choice note since people sometimes get tripped up: 「エゴイスト」(egoisuto) here is just the loanword "egoist" written in katakana — it's not a special term, the anime uses it exactly the way the English title does.
