why did re zero season 4 stop for two months in the middle of airing

was watching every week then episode 11 aired back in june and then just nothing until episode 12 finally showed up in august. is that a normal split cour thing for this show or did something happen behind the scenes, it kind of threw me off since i figured it just ended early
