Just finished My Hero Academia season 8 and now there's a whole extra episode called More, is that actually canon

Thought the show ended back in December but now there's this special episode called 'More' that apparently jumps like 8 years after graduation. Is this actually adapted from something Horikoshi wrote or is it just an anime-original epilogue for the anniversary? Kind of don't want to watch it if it's not really canon.
